  My husband and I were so close to signing a purchase agreement with these people and we are so satisfied with our decision not to! As first time home buyers, we learned a lot through this entire process. Even though we knew the man who was trying to sell the house to us was a salesman, we honestly believed that he was telling us the truth the whole entire process about the pricing of the home, quality of the home, etc. When we went to negotiate the price of the house (because we knew the house wasn't worth as much as it was "assessed" for) he completely changed his nice, friendly demeanor and became very rude towards us. We even told him that in order for us to sign a purchase agreement we wanted our own assessor to come by and assess the home and if it was worth any less than what he had told us, we would walk. He finally confessed that it would not be assessed at the number he had been giving us all along. Although we loved the house, we knew that with laminate floors, laminate countertops, cheap carpet, and thin walls that it was not worth what it was being listed at. If you are looking to buy or build in here I recommend bringing in someone who knows real estate with you. This guy thought he could take advantage of us because we are young, but little does he know I actually have worked with financial planners and both my husband and I know what we are getting ourselves into when buying our first home. The unfortunate thing is many people don't think through many of these things when buying a home and we know he will be able to continue selling these homes for a higher price than what they are worth.
